The BioInformatics and Databases (BioBD) Laboratory focuses on data engineering issues applied to computational biology and other applications. On the one hand, our goal is to investigate current data management research issues, particularly (self)tuning, data representation and new data models. Our main research issues relate to bioinformatics and other interdisciplinary application areas. On the other hand, we consider our information systems and data management knowledge on the design and implementation of efficient database systems with cutting-edge technologies.
